Information

June 20 and 21 2009 is the next opportunity to join Chester's Midsummer Watch Parade, with its Giants, Beasts, animated tableaux and kaleidoscope of costumed characters. We will be seeking schools, local groups, musicians and families to join in the festivities and re-create this unique medieval street pageant.

No experience of performance is needed. We provide the support of an artist, who will help create simple costumes and props. Musicians can take part in groups, or join our special "Midsummer Band".

School workshops will take place during June, individuals can come along to the free workshops

Background

Chester's Midsummer Watch is one of Britain's oldest festivals - a tradition reflecting 500 years of the city's history. We depend upon the continued support and involvement of local people to keep this exciting Parade alive, as a major mid-summer spectacle.

Visit the Midsummer Watch website for more pictures, video and dtails about how to join the parade.
