Chester Performs

Chester Performs is a new organisation driving the development of the performing arts in Chester and Cheshire. It is responsible for the development of Chester’s new Performing Arts Centre (external link) and is a leading producer and promoter of diverse events in and around the city.

Over the next few years Chester Performs will be working closely with local, national and international artists to deliver exciting and unusual projects. There are lots of ways in which you can take part both as audiences and participants.

Chester Schools Concert BandSchool orchestra readys to play

Pupils of Chester now have the opportunity to perform in one of the top award winning bands in the city, regardless of which school they attend.

The Band was founded in October 1985 under the original name of "West Cheshire Schools Concert Band" to give brass and woodwind players in West Cheshire the opportunity of playing a wide variety of music and to develop the band work started in schools.

Chester Photographic Society

Chester Photographic Society LogoChester Photographic Society is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union.

The Photographic society is a Section of the Chester Society of Natural Science, Literature and Art, which was founded in 1871. The Photographic Society was itself founded in 1887, making it one of the oldest photographic societies in Cheshire.

They meet either in the Grosvenor Museum Lecture Theatre or in the United Reformed Church, at Green Lane/Oldfield Drive, Vicars Cross, Chester, on Tuesday Evenings from 7.15 to 9.30 p.m. The Society meets on a weekly basis from September to May. They also arrange a programme of Summer Events for Members and Friends.

Young music students from Colorado and Cheshire can be heard in concerts at Abbey Gate College, Eaton Park and Nantwich during July For booking, programme or other details
