War Baby

For most of us it was the best of times. The long, dark days of WW2 had finally ended and people were able to look forward to a brighter, better future despite the ongoing hardships of post war austerity and rationing. Growing up in Chester in the late 1940s/early 1950s was a time of relative freedom, of adventure and of lifelong friendships forged. The War Baby exhibition included schooldays, clubs and societies, holidays and home life, as well as the excitement of the 1953 street parties to celebrate the Coronation.
