Family fun favourites

The Blue Planet Aquarium - a great day out for all the familyCastles, mazes, one of the best zoos in the world, boat lifts, rope walks through the treetops, ice cream farms, space exploration and theme parks – sounds like most children’s idea of heaven!
Bring the family for a day, a weekend or a fortnight of fun and
you’ll find something different to do every single day. Hire bikes
for all the family and explore the different trails around the vast Delamere Forest. Spend a whole day at Chester Zoo and you’ll still want to come back for more.

Split up and go your own separate ways to make the most of Tatton Park – to stroll around the stunning gardens, cycle round the lake, visit the farm, let off steam in the adventure playground  or explore the mansion.

And that’s just for starters…

All Aboard!

One of the nation’s most magnificent examples ofVictorian engineering,
Anderton Boat Lift, known as the “The Cathedral of the Canals”, transports canal boats between the RiverWeaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal 50 feet above. Take a boat trip on this Victorian white knuckle ride and explore the visitor centre in this dramatic setting.

Down on the farm

There’s plenty of farmyard fun to be had in Cheshire. At Stockley Farm, kids can help bottle feed the lambs, cows, calves or the pigs!

Over at Tatton Park, visit The Home Farm, where every animal has its own
personality and story to tell. The birth of piglets is always a popular attraction when it happens! Many children now have their Birthday parties at the farm and become a ‘farmer for a day’.

Hilly Billy Ice Cream Farm will tempt you with their fabulous home made ice cream before you stroll around their nature trail, plus there are always calves and other small animals for you to see.

There are over 20 flavours of luxury real dairy ice cream just waiting for you at Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. Top flavours include Banana, Malt Tease and Honeycomb. After your final crunch of the cone why not go and see the cows being milked? Get Lost or Get Scared at the Amazing Maize Maze & SpookyWorld. You’ll find the  world’s most interactive puzzle, plus
hayrides and animals. In October, the residents of the Forbidden Forest cannot wait for you to visit them!

Attractions of the Year

Chester Zoo was proudly awarded the title of Visit Chester & Cheshire’s 2006 Best Large Attraction of the Year as a result of a high level of customer service, a tangible sense of quality, cleanliness and friendliness. We’re sure the animals helped along the way too!

Arley Hall and Gardens, near Northwich, won 2006 Best Small Attraction of the Year in respect of its “absorbing attraction” and programme of activity
